ABOUT

About

The Shelter from the Storm band is North America's preeminent concert experience paying tribute to the tremendous music of Bob Dylan. Comprised of musicians each well established in their own rights in genres ranging from progressive indie, psychedelic, roots and Americana rock as well as jazz and blues, they come together as Shelter From the Storm to perform Dylan's music with the spirit and feel of his peak eras, combined with great vocals and harmonies.  This is not a Bob Dylan impersonation, this is a celebration of his music performed like those passionate about it have always wanted to hear it.  Shelter From the Storm performs both electric and acoustic Dylan.

Shelter From the Storm

The band consists of four career musicians who are not only serious Dylan enthusiasts but also each well established in genres as  diverse as indie rock, psychedelia, Americana, and jazz.  Bassist Caroline Joseph is formally trained in jazz and progressive rock, and is best known as bassist for criticially acclaimed progressive indie band Freak MythologyLogan Flum is a virtuoso on both keys and guitar, also with Freak Mythology (check out their fantastic albums!), and contributes piano, B3, and lead guitar in this band.  Dennis O'Hagan handles guitar, harp, and most lead vocal duties in Shelter, and has a long history fronting indie bands such as the psychedelic underground bands Voodoo Loons and Wolfticket (check out their albums too!), and since 2018 has been touring all over the US (nearly 1000 shows in 45 states, so far) with his Great Brewery Tour, which focuses on rootsy folk punk and Americana.  Drummer Dave Kammerer has a long illustrious resume touring and playing with respected jazz, blues, and rock outfits such as the Sonny Moorman Group, Big Trouble Blues Band, and many others.

SETLISTS

Perhaps no other artist has a catalog as extensive as Dylan's, and in the tradition of the Grateful Dead (who toured as Dylan's band in 1987), Shelter From the Storm strives to make every show unique, and as such changes up its setlists each night.  In fact, when booked to play more than one night (festivals, etc.) you can expect a totally different setlist each night.  Here is a partial list of tunes we draw from (it grows every day)...
